Never allow your child or children could dictate when you will comply with the custody order. All custody orders require an exchange of the child or children at some time. It is very important that you as the parent make that exchange. If you do not make the exchange because the child or children do not want to see their other parent, you are at risk of being held in contempt of court. The punishment for contempt of court can be a fine, the order of make up time, or incarceration. Allowing a child or children to dictate whether or not you comply with the custom you order is very dangerous for you, not the child. You are setting a bad precedent. What is next, your 12 year old child wants to drink alcohol, smoke tobacco, smoke marijuana. Would you allow them to make those detrimental decisions. Be the parent, be the adult, tell your child or children what they must do, not what they want to do. If you need help, call me, Marc Vogin, 215-557-9119 or email me, kvglaw@gmail.com
